Here’s another stunning job we’ve been working on up in Park City, UT. A very unique aspect of this staircase are the two stepped plate steel stringers that are side by side and create the feel of a monostringer but with open clear space between them. The engineered block treads are being wrapped in Plain Sawn White Oak and then ½” steel rods will be hung from the ceiling, some as long as 30’, to support the outer tread ends on both the upper and lower flights and serve as the guardrails. Small horizontal Brass “bones” will be positioned in a pattern throughout, tying the rods together and adding visual interest. The attached design sketch gives an idea of the finished product, which will be a very modern and refined point of interest in what is sure to be a beautiful home.
