Let me introduce myself, I am Shem Bishop, owner of Bishop Woodcraft. My story began back in 1987 when, as a young man at 17 years old, I joined my uncle’s small company to learn the craft of building custom staircases & railings. I quickly realized a love for creating very fine woodwork and the pride that comes from a job well done. Later, after advancing to a premier custom staircase company in Sandy Utah, I continued growing in the knowledge and skill of this specialized and unique trade.
After 14 years, in 2001 Bishop Woodcraft was born in Salt Lake City. Our team has served numerous amazing clients to create incredible works of art in their homes, businesses, and religious buildings in many amazing locations. Here in Utah these include Salt Lake City, Bountiful, Park City, Alpine, Heber and the surrounding areas. Other locations have included Montanna, Idaho, Nevada, California, Hawaii, and Florida.
The process of creating these masterpiece staircases requires the finest materials and exquisite craftsmanship. We ensure this with a world-wide array of material sources, careful collaboration, skilled artisans, and a demand for code and quality compliance over and above industry standards.
